The London Chapter of the Irish Georgian Society has been working hard to raise awareness of Ireland's architecural heritage since 1971. Membership is made up of people with a passion for historic buildings, gardens and landscapes and is open to all. Events are organised throughout the year with lectures related to Irish architecture and the decorative arts and tours organised both in England and in Ireland.

John Redmill, London Chapter Head reports
In April members enjoyed a lecture about the Russell family and Woburn Abbey by long standing London Chapter member, Ronald Porter. Welcomed with a rendition of “Che Sera Sera” – the Russell family motto - members were given a fascinating history of the family, their Tudor origins, receiving a Dukedom in 1694, to opening the doors of Woburn to the public in the 1950s.
