The first place members will have a chance to see is Malahide Castle. This magnificent and historic castle was home to the Talbot family for over 800 years, now in the care of Fingal County Council.

Next site will be Ardgillian Castle which was acquired by the Taylor family in 1737 and it remained the family home of the Taylors for more than two hundred years up until 1962 when the estate was sold to Heinrich Potts of Westphalia, Germany. In 1982, Dublin County Council purchased Ardgillan Demesne and it is now managed by Ardgillan Castle Ltd. under the auspices of Fingal County Council.

Members will have a chance to wander Swords Castle which has over 800 years of history serving as residence for the Medieval Archbishop of Dublin.

Members will lunch in Clontarf Castle which is now a commercial hotel before visiting Howth Castle where they will have a guided tour and time to explore the private residence. The tour will conclude by 7pm.      

This tour is led by Pat Murray, IGS Board Member.
