International Trip to Neoclassical Naples: In the Footsteps of William Hamilton with Harriet Landseer

Staying in Naples, we will trace the residences used by the royal couple Ferdinand I and Maria-Carolina of the Two Sicilies, whose court drew many notable visitors. We will visit the Capodimonte and the Castelnuovo, as well as her Villa Floridiana, an elegant Neoclassical residence that now houses a porcelain collection. We will see two residences belonging to the family of the Prime Minister Sir John Acton, the Villa Pignatelli and Palazzo Cellammare. An excursion to Caserta, the royal hunting box, will include a visit to Herculaneum and the National Architectural Museum, the biggest Roman architectural museum in the world, as well as final dinner in a palazzo with a spectacular view of the Bay of Naples.
