09.06.2018, 14:30 P.M.

Glascott Symes will lead a tour hosted by the North Great George’s Street Preservation Society. The street was developed in the 1770s and 1780s on the grounds of Mount Eccles. The earlier houses have rococo decoration while the majority are neoclassical with work by Charles Thorp and Michael Stapleton. By the early 20th century most of them had become tenements. In the second half of the century, pioneers such as Harold Clarke, David Norris and Desiree Shortt restored the houses. Houses in single family use, houses divided into substantial apartments and one combining offices and residences will be visited.

Please note this tour has limited capacity and the bookings are on a first- come-first-served basis and members will take precedence
