Description:
Two-storey detached house built c. 1840 that incorporates an earlier single-storey house built in 1795. Ballintemple retains much of its original character and architectural detailing including original fenestration and a fine door case. It is of historical interest through associations with the Earl Bishop of Derry and an earlier owner’s service under the Duke of Wellington in the Peninsular Wars and the Battle of Waterloo.
