Description:
The Lord Annaly Monument (c. 1760) was sculpted from Carrara marble and Kilkenny limestone by John Nost the Younger for the Holy Trinity Church in Tashinny, County Longford. Commissioned by John Gore to commemorate his father, Judge Gore, the monument depicts Lord Annaly rising from the tomb while looking at a medallion portrait of his wife Brigid Sankey. The figure is surrounded by cherubs and by trumpets and rays of sunlight made of gilded lead.
