Cork Chapter New Member Outreach: Evening Boat Tour of Cork Harbour

12.06.2026, 16:30 P.M.

Cork Chapter New Member Outreach: Evening Boat Tour of Cork Harbour, 4.30pm, 12th June

This is a cruise with a difference! A key pillar of The Irish Georgian Society’s strategic plan is to grow its Membership over the coming years. To support this, the Cork Chapter has organised this two-hour harbour cruise with Cork Harbour Cruise Company.

Cork harbour has a rich and varied history, combined with stunning scenery. From the boat it is possible to see a wide selection of architecturally significant features and marine residences in the harbour from a unique viewpoint.

In addition to the interesting commentary provided by the Cruise Company, Mr. Brendan O’Sullivan, FIPI FRTPI, Senior Lecturer UCC, Department of Planning, will share his in-depth knowledge of the built environment, heritage and change in and around Cork Harbour from olden to modern times.

The Cork Chapter is inviting members to consider bringing along a guest whom they believe might be interested in becoming a long-term member of the Irish Georgian Society. In particular, we would ask that you consider inviting:

- A younger person (under 40 years) who might be interested in setting up a Young Irish Georgian (YIG) Chapter in Cork

- A student or a professional already involved in conservation/education/heritage, etc.

- Any friend or acquaintance who is interested in preserving Ireland’s built heritage and interested in becoming an IGS member.

4.45pm Boarding opens for IGS Cork Harbour Cruise.
5.00pm sharp Boat departs Custom House Quay, Cork, for harbour tour.
