Events Dinner at the Reform Club, Pall Mall

Back to Events

27.11.2018, 19:00 P.M.

The pre-Christmas Club dinner has become a firm fixture in the London Chapter's annual calendar. Our first dinner was at the Reform Club in 2005, with Desmond Guinness as our guest speaker. Dinners have been held each year since then, each time at a different club. This year we are breaking with tradition and returning to the Reform – one of London’s greatest club buildings.

The Reform Club was founded in 1836, designed by Sir Charles Barry, who had completed the neighbouring Travellers Club (1829-32). The building – said to be based on the Farnese Palace in Rome – is palatial in scale, with its impressive central atrium. We will be dining in the library on the first floor – considered to be the finest room in the Club.

Each year we have a distinguished speaker and this year will be no exception. Our speaker John Goodall is an English historian, author, and Architectural Editor of Country Life magazine.
