Dublin Literature Tour with Dublin Decoded

11.07.2019, 14:30 P.M.

A Dublin Literature tour with a difference, forgotten spaces and forgotten figures of Irish literature, page and stage. This tour will explore forgotten literary and theatrical landscapes of Dublin covering in a light accessible way Restoration and Georgian drama; and Dublin’s very first theatres of the 1600s. Colourful figures we shall meet along the way include a 19th century woman novelist and salon hostess, a bespectacled post-modern poet of poverty and politics, the 1600s booksellers of Castle Street, and Swift’s first biographer.

Walking from: the west door of Royal Exchange (facing the Rates office on Cork Hill) via to Bride St, Werburgh St, Fishamble St; Smock Alley and ending Crow St. Meeting Cork Hill, (just off Dame St/ Lord Edwards St) and finishing in Crow Street, Temple Bar.
