Thomas Pakenham is kindly welcoming IGS Patron, Guardian & Benefactor Members to Tullynally Castle which has been home to his family since the 1650s and is the largest castellated house in Ireland. Originally a two-storey late 17th c. house, it was extended and embellished in a Georgian Gothic style by Francis Johnston in the late 18th c. with further expansion works undertaken during the 19th c., first by James Shiel and later by Sir Richard Morrison. The castle overlooks 20 acres of gardens, divided between walled gardens, extensive woodland gardens and two ornamental lakes. Guests will be brought on a tour before settling down for lunch in a truly historic setting.
Invitations to be issued mid-summer
