Members are invited to the IGS Summer Party which this year will be held in Headfort House, courtesy of Headfort School. Built in the 1760s to the designs of George Semple (1700-1782) for Sir Thomas Taylour, later 1st Earl of Bective (1724-1795), Headfort contains an extraordinary suite of rooms designed by Robert Adam (1728-1792) and executed between 1771 and 1775. Its most magnificent room, the Eating Parlour was restored in 2008 by the IGS to mark the Society’s 50th anniversary.
There will be a coach from Dublin as well as onsite parking.
