‘Some Old Ulster Houses and their Chatelaines’

14.01.2020, 18:30 P.M.

An exploration of Country Houses of Antrim and Down and their Chatelaines ahead of the fantastic tour in May. This talk will focus on a few of the houses that we plan to visit and a chatelaine of each such as Circe (Edith) Londonderry at Mount Stewart and Anne Catherine, Countess of Antrim in her own right, at Glenarm Castle.

Daniel Calley was born in Georgetown and grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, USA. He is the author of 'City of Derry, An Historical Gazetteer to the Buildings of Londonderry' (UAH). He is chairman of the Friends of the Belfast Linen Hall Library, a vice-chairman of the British Association of Friends of Museums and sits on the Northern Ireland Committee of the Art Fund.
