Trip to Cork with the YIGs
20th-22nd February

The London Dublin 'Young Irish Georgians' have put together an exciting and action packed itinerary for a weekend touring Cork. The trip will include visits to the city’s Four Faced Liar, Honan Chapel, Butter Museum, and Cobh’s Sirius Art Centre There will also be an optional dinner at Ballyvolane.

Itinerary:

Friday 20th
Arrive in Cork City.
Go to accommodation.
Optional group dinner at Ballyvolane. Drinks 18.30. Tour. 19.00 Dinner 19.30
Four course meal – Euro 80 per person

Saturday 21st
10.00: Meet at Glucksman Gallery, UCC - Good coffee at Leas, Walk around Quad
10.30: Honan Chapel - 20minutes max
11.00: St Finbarr’s Cathedral (30minutes) - walk to Grand Parade
12.00: Grand Parade walking Tour (Cork Chapter outreach tbc)- Tour of Assembly House, Triskel Arts Centre, Patrick St and the English Market
13.00: Lunch: English Market
14.00: Butter Museum (Option) or St Annes Church Spire (Four Faced Liar) there is a butter making demo at 12.00 but its first come first serve-I’ll try see if they can organise a special one for us if there is traction.
15.00: Skiddys Row Alms House
16.00: Civic Trust House Popes Quay or alternative as per Cork Chapter Chair Kevin Hurley's confirmation.
17:00: Free period
19.00: Dinner at Isaac’s
20.00: Big pub social

Sunday 22nd
11:00: Trip to Cobh to see the Sirius Arts Centre, the contribution of which the IGS have committed significantly to.
11.30: St Coleman’s Cathedral
12.30: American Consulate (TBC)
18.00: End of Trip

Fee: £50 (to cover entrance fees etc.) and €80 for the dinner at Ballyvolane
